At Ellie, we’ve split our growing product organization into dedicated teams responsible for different parts of our modern data modeling SaaS product. Now, we’re looking for a Team Product Owner to guide one of these teams and help us shape the future of data modeling—including brand-new AI capabilities in our platform.

As a Team Product Owner on one of our teams, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Help us innovate: We’re introducing AI to power smarter data modeling and collaboration features.
• Own and prioritize your team’s backlog to deliver impactful product enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues, including developers, designers, QA experts, and product leadership.
• Shape product management best practices within a fast-growing startup that’s becoming known globally for fresh thinking in data solutions.

What you’ll do

• Define the backlog for your dedicated product area, aligning with company strategy and customer needs.
• Gather requirements from customers and translate them into clear user stories or Jira tickets, working closely with designers to plan user journeys.
• Leverage AI in product features, collaborating with technical experts to explore and integrate relevant AI-driven innovations.
• Facilitate communication both within your team and with stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment on product goals.
• Participate in product releases—from epic planning through go-live.

What you bring

• Experience in agile product management – you’ve managed a digital product or worked as part of a product team.
• Technical writing skills – you can craft concise and compelling product documentation.
• Exposure to data-related concepts – you have a basic understanding of data management or data solutions.
• Strong communication in English – you’ll collaborate with a multicultural team and external partners.
• Curiosity about AI – you don’t have to be an AI expert, but you’re excited to explore how AI can enhance product features and user experience.

Nice-to-Have Domain Expertise:

• Metadata Management: Familiarity with metadata concepts (e.g., data lineage, glossaries, dictionaries) and experience using metadata tools like data catalogs.
• Data Standards: Understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., GDPR) and metadata standards (e.g., ISO for data modeling).
• Data & Analytics: Experience of modern data stack tools such as Data Warehouses, Data Catalogs, Data Engineering, and BI tools.

What success looks like

After 3 months:
You’ve immersed yourself in Ellie—understanding our platform, meeting your team, and learning the ropes of our product processes. You’ve contributed to at least one product release, working hand-in-hand with the team.

After 6 months:
You’re confidently owning the backlog, scoping out features, and prioritizing tasks that bring real value to users. You’ve begun incorporating AI innovations into your product area and have met some of our key partners or customers.

After 12 months:
You’re the go-to expert for your product domain. You’ve established clear metrics to measure the success of your product area and regularly share insights on how AI-driven features are performing. You’ve turned your cross-functional team into a well-aligned, value-producing force!

Practical Details

• Our office is in Lauttasaari, Helsinki; we work in a hybrid model (usually a few office days per week).
• Monthly salary: 4,000–5,500 EUR
• Option program for employees, so you’ll have equity opportunities as we grow.
